In order to further promote the domestic and foreign development of 5G technologies, and to assist National 863 Program and IMT-2020 Promotion Group in developing and implementing 5G advanced research, the EU METIS Project with the FuTURE FORUM will organize Summit on Future Information and Communication Technology (5G) (abbreviated as 5G Summit) in Beijing from October 29th to 30th of 2013.
The Summit is supported by MOST, MIIT, NDRC, and other relative governmental organs.
Oriented by advanced mobile communication technologies and application requirements, 5G Workshop will build an open platform for international exchange on advanced technologies, and set up a long-term international cooperative mechanism, promoting the convergence and development of global 5G technologies and standards.
Official representatives and experts from China, Europe, Japan, Korea and other regions will attend this workshop exchange on the general development and R&D plans of 5G technologies. The representatives from different international or regional standardization organizations and research institutes, reputed domestic and international experts and scholars, telecom operators, leading software and hardware providers, will discuss the development of information communication technologies and mobile applications based on the market requirement on wireless communication and data applications by 2020, and to look into the prospect of the evolution from 3G/4G to 5G. Exchange on 5G wireless communication architecture, requirements, application scenarios, wireless transmission and networking standards will be focused on this workshop to lay a sound foundation for the development of 5G mobile communication systems and the future relative international cooperation.
